Warm Weather Fix

Bike Trail near Todos Santos
We waffled back and forth as to whether or not we should take this Spring Break trip.  And while it may have not been the best financial decision, I succumb easily to warm weather vacations, and Bryant's arm doesn't need to be twisted very hard either.
Last time we were in La Paz, we stripped the boat of our personal gear and put a "For Sale" sign on it, so this trip we traded in our sailing hats for bike shoes and surfboards.  We ended up spending the first couple of days in La Paz and then made our way to Todos Santos on the Pacific side for the remainder of the trip.

We explored bike trails in both areas we hadn't been on and also made our way to Cerritos Beach a couple of times to get beaten up by the waves in my amateur attempts to become a surfer.  On our last day of vacation, we biked and mostly hiked from sea level to 6,000 feet in the Sierra Laguna Mountains.  When we stepped on the airplane Saturday to head home I'm not sure which of us was gimping more, me with my huge blister from hiking in my bike shoes or Bryant with his sore legs from all the downhill.

Now a week later, I am rested and recovered from my Spring Break vacation and anxious to finish the last 8 weeks of school.

Arctic Valley

Last weekend, we went to Arctic Valley Ski Resort, which is located between Anchorage and Eagle River. Gus was our photographer.  He mounted his Go Pro camera on his helmet and documented a few scenes with pictures and video.  It really is a great little ski area.  Almost all of the terrain is intermediate, but because grooming doesn't exist, the bigger challenge is skiing whatever snow conditions present themselves.  And it is a mixture of packed and tracked powder.  There are never any lines and the prices are still reasonable.  For us, the extra bonus is that it is only 1 hour from home.
