Back from Loreto, Mexico

Two weeks ago, I was busy finishing off my "To Do:" list so I could get myself on an airplane and enjoy a sun filled Spring Break in Loreto, Mexico, and now we are already back.
My blog is having a hard time keeping up . . .

The 40K "Tour of Anchorage" ski race was on that list and it turned out well even if it was the hardest physical activity I've done in a long time. My goal was to finish under 3 hours and I did that by two minutes.  I was 60th place out of 150 women, but luckily I fell into a less competitive age category and ended up 3rd place amongst the 40 - 44 year olds.

Another big thing on that list before I left was getting Wyatt off to two band concerts, jazz and symphonic, followed by the Palmer High School Music Spring Break adventure to Florida and the Caribbean.  They will play at a jazz festival in Disney and then provide entertainment on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship to the Bahamas.  I'm a little jealous that my 15 year old son touches Caribbean sand before me, but this trip is quite the opportunity.

The Baja and the Sea of Cortez - I love it!  As each trip passes into the next, I'm getting more and more hooked on sunny blue skies and the ocean. Our weather was ideal, 80's during the day and low 60's at night.   There was enough wind to sail on some days, but not too much wind where we bounced around at the anchorages at night or had to adjust our sailing itinerary.  The highlight for me was being able to swim everyday.  I bought myself a farmer john wetsuit, so that made the 65-68 degree water temperatures much more tolerable for longer periods of time when swimming and snorkeling.

Once again, I'll let the pictures tell most of the story . . . .
